Poor Missouri

soooooooo, i dont have the channel WE in my apartment at school (as well as VH1 and Bravo...tragic, i know), so i've been catching up since being at home for christmas break. one show in particular, which is called Downsized, caught my eye. i became really intrigued. for those that dont know, it is about a family who pretty much lost everything when the father's construction business went under, and the show tracks the the journey of how the family gets back on their feet. the family lives in arizona and the father is faced with a decision about whether or not he should take a construction job in missouri that will last 6 months. the perks are obviously that he will be able to better provide for his family financially (being that he will be receiving a years salary in a matter of months). the downside is that he will have to leave his wife and kids and miss half of his 2 daughter's senior year, among other memories. i personally feel that if the job will help the family financially, which will create a more stable life for everyone else, then i say that he should go for it. but im making this decision based on what their future needs would be. they were just talking about not being a able to afford college and this would help the family continue in a positive direction. however the wife and kids dont like the idea and i totally get it. tough decision to make. what do you guys think?
